Three hat-tricks in 14-0 rout of Owls

ALFRETON Town continued their pre-season build-up with a sensational 14-0 victory over a youthful Sheffield Wednesday side who found themselves overwhelmed.

The hosts took the lead inside the first two minutes when visiting keeper Sean Cuff pushed a Josh Law cross into his own net for an own goal after just one minute and 50 seconds.

Goals came at regular intervals after that with Law doubling the lead on six minutes after which three players notched hat-tricks, Nathan Arnold, Nathan Jarman and Paul Clayton, the last of which came from the penalty spot.

Other goals came from Chris Senior and Jordan Hall.

Alfreton are back in action on Wednesday evening when they make the short trip to face Matlock Town at the Reynolds Stadium. Kick-off is 7.45pm.
