Triple medal joy for Liam in Glasgow

Chesterfield table tennis ace Liam Pitchford took bronze in the mes’s singles event at Glasgow 2014 over the weekend.

The 21-year-old ended his second Commonwealth Games in style with defeat of Sharath Kamal Achanta of India 4-2 (11-6; 11-8; 4-11; 11-9; 6-11; 12-10).

England’s Number One added bronze to his silver medals in the mixed doubles, alongside 15-year-old Tin Tin Ho, and the team event earlier in the week.

Pitchford represented England four years ago in Delhi when he took team silver and bronze in the men’s doubles.
