Valley booked their ticket to the second round of the Raging Bull Trophy thanks to this victory over Marple.
They were made to fight as the visitors stormed into a 14-3 lead which Hope narrowed to 14-10 by half time.
After taking control in the second half, Valley won through to draw Chester in the competition’s second round.
Tries came from Evans 2 and McGuigan while Spencer was in fine form with the boot, converting all three tries and slotting a penalty.
Hope travel away at Bowden on Saturday while Hope Valley Hawks entertain Oldham 4ths at Castleton, kick off 2.15pm.

Tupton’s progress in the NLD Cup was brought to an end at the quarter final stage by Southwell.
In an extremely tight encounter, Tupton’s try came from Jordan White with Phil Harrison taking the man of the match award.
On Saturday, Tupton face a trip to Skegness for a league encounter.

Ollerton applied the pressure in the first half which saw them build up a 12-0 lead.
But Panthers took control from the start of the second half and tries came from Lee Laughton and Brad Gozzard on his debut.
A Josh Townsend conversion levelled the scores.
Man of the match was Nathan Poulton.

In what proved to be a very even game, the winning margin for Bakewell was just one penalty kick.
Tries for the Panthers came from William Croydon 2, Mikey Croft and Alex Winnard. Mikey Croft was man of the match.

Chesterfield Panthers, with several front-line players called up for NLD duty, found themselves 15-0 down at half time.
Panthers’ try came from Jack Large while man of the match was Ewan Hawkins.
In last week’s U14s report it was stated incorrectly that a conversion had been kicked by Michael White. It was team captain Matthew White who added the extras in the 17-0 win over Ashbourne.
