Stanedge Golf Club skipper Jim Carter was blessed with good weather for his Captain’s Weekend which attracted a big turn out of members of the moorland course.
Individual Division One winner was Carl Hayes with 39 points.
Carl pushed Mike Ashworth (37) into second place with Mark Allsop (36) third.
From the ranks of the Second Division, Phil Armstrong (40) was first while second was Harry Wright (38) with Pete Leigh (36) coming home third.
Derek Morley (46) topped the Third Division with Keith Bradley (39) second and Paul Wycherley (38) third.
In the Ladies event, Jane Hardy was first while Sheila Whelan was second and Annette Yeomans third.
Ruth Rastrick was nearest the pin at the fourth hole, 14.5 inches, while Pete Leigh was three and a half inches from the tenth.
James Gill topped the hidden holes event with 11 points over holes five, six, 16 and 17.
The committee prize went to Sam O’Donnel (33) while Charlie Eades topped the junior ranks with 48 points, one ahead of Joe Elliott.
Meanwhile, there were red faces all round when the mixed one-club challenge was introduced after a five-year gap.
The outright winner was past ladies captain Jane Hardy who set a new ladies record of just 46 shots, producing a net of 37 and 16 points.
The most successful gents were James Gill and Peter Rouse, both with a net of 38 points.
Lowest gross of the event was from Carl Hayes who completed the course with his one club in 43 strokes.
