An action-packed, fun-filled family day of sport is set to be had at Carsington Water tomorrow (June 8).

Visitors will be able to participate in archery, jiu-jitsu, a fun run, football, cycling, golf, inflatables, barbecue and a host of other sports and craft activities.

The action runs from 10am-2pm and entry to most of the activities is free of charge.

More than 1,000 people enjoyed last year’s Village Games.

Outgoing chairman of Derbyshire Dales District Council’s Communities Committee, councillor Mrs Carol Walker said: “In Olympics year our Village Games team made the Carsington celebration even bigger and better than the very successful 2011 event.

“Now, with help from the many local sports clubs and providers who showcase their talents, we’re aiming to progress again. It really is a great day out for all the family and well worth a visit.”
