Seal of approval

Dronfield Rugby Club has been awarded the RFU’s Mini and Youth Seal of Approval accreditation for the standard of its provision of rugby for young players.

The RFU introduced the Seal of Approval programme in association with Sport England and the Clubmark scheme in 2002 to recognise clubs in reaching standards required in the development of rugby for young people and to plan for the long term sustainability of the club.

The club has worked closely with Alan Royer Rugby Development Officer whose primary role is to support clubs in developing the provision for players.

This award would not have been possible without the dedication and effort shown by all the coaching and organising staff of the Mini and Junior Section including John Smalley, Russ Wing, John Kilmartin, Damien Rushworth and all the other coaches and parents who make the running of the teams possible and Club Chairman, Ian Edwards who lead the accreditation process.

The Mini and Junior section of Dronfield Rugby Club goes from strength to strength running teams from U7s up to U12s.
