St Peter and St Paul School (three wins) and Old Hall School (two wins) took most of the team honours at the fourth annual Chesterfield Area Primary Schools Cross-Country Championships at Holmebrook Valley Park, writes Frank Gorman.

More than 250 youngsters took part in the event promoted by Chesterfield Athletics Club in conjunction with the Chesterfield Schools’ Sport Partnership, with Newbold, St. Mary’s and Brookfield Schools providing extra marshals on the day. Richard Pentin, the race director, presented the winning teams with a commemorative trophy, and the first three individuals in each race with medals and a year’s free membership of the club.
