In Division One of the Inkxtra-sponsored Chesterfield Midweek Cricket League, Holmewood batted first and in their allotted overs reached a total of 127-7 with Matt Ryalls scoring 52.

Best bowler on show for Holmesfield was D Ward who took 3-19.

In reply Holmesfield fell just six runs short ending on 121-9 with N Pearson scoring 42.

Best bowlers for Holmewood were M Ryall and G Horton who both took 3-10.

Chesterfield Barbarians reached a total of 120-4 in their overs thanks mainly to Tom Peach 46 not out, J Fletcher 25 and D Hopkinson 21.

Wicket takers for Morton were B Matthews 2-26 and both D Greaves and J Clarke 1-22.

Morton then finished on 121-3 with M Poiney scoring 53 and J Lane 51 The only wicket taker for Barbarians was N Fletcher who took 1-13.

With B Lambon scoring 45 J Hunt 32 and Paul Fisher 14, Dronfield Woodhouse reached a total of 107-6 Wicket takers for Coal Aston were L Browes 1-17 E Tye 1-22 and H Simpson 1- 29.

Coal Aston reached their target for the loss of 4 wickets with L Browes 34 J Cross 23 and M Upton 11 not out. The only wicket takers for Dronfield were A Findlow 3-11 and T Wilson 1-28.

In Division Three, Whittington Wanderers batted first and found runs hard to come by as they reached a total of 50-7 with best batsman being P Benison who scored 20 not out.

Pick of the bowlers for MGT were B Weager 2-2, K Barrett 1-1, J Carley 2-9 and S Nalty 1-10.

MGT then finished on 53-3 with S Nalty scoring 13 and J Carley 11 not out Wicket takers for Whittington were J McMahone 2-13 and H Lukose 1-16.

Cromford Meadows batted first and reached a total of 136-8 in their allotted overs with top scorers being D Losper 50 and S Cooke 39.

Best bowling figures for Cutthorpe were J Thompson 2-13, P Callaghan 2-20 and J Cartledge 1-1.

Cutthorpe were then bowled out for 41 top scorers were J Thompson and N Drew who both scored eight.

Bowling figures for Cromford were M Bosswell 3-5, J Griffiths 2-11, D Losper 1-4 and J Bradbury 1-8.
