There were mixed fortunes for Chesterfield Panthers Junior sides on Sunday, with a win for the U14s and defeats for the U13s and U18s.
Travelling to Amber Valley the U13s matched their hosts for most of the game and lead well into the second half with tries from Callum Bollands and Ethan Bradshaw, both of which were converted.
Superior fitness from the Valley players saw them take the game with four tries in the final quarter to win 30-14.
The U14s travelled to Sheffield and in an evenly balanced match ran out winners 29-25.
Similarly the U18s visited Long Eaton and were unlucky to loose by one score in a thrilling game which could have gone either way.
The final result of 22-19 in Long Eaton’s favour showed just how close the contest had been.
