In a statement issed to its members, the club confirmed the split after they sought support from the RFU.

It read: “After much deliberation and with substantial input and support from the RFU the Committee has reached the decision to amicably part company with coaches Derek Sherlock and Walsale Sovatabua with immediate effect.

“Our thanks go out to both for their efforts over the last three seasons particularly in gaining promotion for our 1st XV from Level 4 to Level 3.

“The RFU have agreed to assist with coaching on a temporary basis and will be working alongside us until a new coaching team has been established to carry the Club forward.”
