Alfreton Town have swooped to sign former Fleetwood Town midfield player Jamie Mullan.
Nottingham-borm Mullan is a versatile, pacy winger in the traditional mould who likes to run at defenders and is comfortable on either flank.
He began at Notts County where he had two years under Nicky Law before being picked up by Manchester United as an Academy Scholar aged 14.
Mullan had four years at Old Trafford where he played for United’s academy and reserve sides, winning a league title with the latter.
He moved on to Rochdale for a short spell before switching to Northwich Victoria in January 2008 where he won the young player of the year award as he helped them stave off relegation.
Mullan joined Fleetwood Town in May 2009 where he was a member of the 2009/2010 promotion winning squad and made over 30 appearances for the Cods in the 2010/11 campaign.
Mullan, 23, joins Alfreton on a one-year deal and has been allocated squad number 19.
He becomes the seventh new face to arrive at the Impact Arena as the club continue to build for a first-ever season in the Blue Square Bet Premier Division.
