Raceline: Tip of the Day 12th February

editorial image

Wretched luck afflicted yesterday’s selection, who fell at the third last fence just when he was coming with a winning run. Here is today’s advice:

Tuesday 12th February

TAP NIGHT

Ayr 3.25 WIN

Today is the day Lucinda Russell’s stable star needs to get his Cheltenham Festival ambitions back on track after a disappointing display at Musselburgh nine days ago when he was unsuited by a race run at a farcical crawl. I am well aware that he must concede 7lbs to the rest of the field and that another below-par effort would ‘earn’ him a lenient handicap mark that could be exploited this spring. But with Tony McCoy back on board, he will surely have too much ability for mainly modest opponents, particularly as his main rival, The Tracey Shuffle, is a front-runner who should ensure the decent gallop he needs.

YESTERDAY: BALDING BANKER FELL (5/1)

SUNDAY: THE LIQUIDATOR WON (1/4)

SATURDAY: MA FILLEULE WON (7/4 but 4/1 when advised)

FRIDAY: MASTER MALT 2ND

THURSDAY: PINE CREEK WON

WEDNESDAY: EDUARD WON

TIP OF THE DAY IS SUPPLIED BY SCOOP RACING (RICHARD SILVERWOOD).
