Racing driver Richard Plant produced the best performance of his Porsche Carrera Cup GB career so far by scoring a sensational maiden podium at Snetterton.
The young Derbyshire talent started both races from third place on the grid in his Team Parker Racing machine and claimed one podium finish on Sunday - for coming home in third spot - and another highly creditable fourth-place finish.
The showdown at Snetterton was the Troway racer’s sixth race of the series and it follows from him being awarded ‘driver of the race’ by Porsche at their prestigious Carrera World Cup in Germany last time out.
The 21-year-old is now fifth in the overall standings and well clear in the rookie rankings.
Plant said: “I am absolutely delighted. I have won races and championships before but this feels like a victory, such is the competitiveness of this series.”
Rounds 12 and 13 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB take place on the September 3 and 4 at Knockhill in Scotland.
