Pearson leads way for Coal Aston

In Division One at Coal Aston, Holmesfield batted first and in their allotted overs reached a total of 159-8 with J Pearson 36, M Holmes 32, L Ball 24 and M Rodgers 18 being pick of the batsmen.

Best bowling figures for Coal Aston were K Smith 2-20 and L Johnson 2-25.

In reply Coal Aston scored 123-8 with K Smith 28 and R Mintoft 27.

Pick of the Holmesfield bowlers were both W Helliwell and N Crapper 2-14 and A Holmes 2-17.

Calow, thanks mainly to A Horton 31 and both R Atkin and J Horton scoring 13, reached a total of 92-9.

Wicket takers for Dronfield Woodhouse were C Oldfield 3-7, M Hayman 2-19 and T Wilson 2-24.

Dronfield then finished on 94-1 with D Drew scoring 50 and M Dawson 28 not out.

Chesterfield Barbarians reached 115-7 against Holmewood with D Hopkinson scoring 40 against some tight bowling especially G Horton who took 3-6.

In reply Holmewood finished on 120-4 with P Stone 46 not out and C Goodhand 31.

In Division Two, Youlgreave batted first and scored 122-5 with S Yates hitting 53 and R Podmore 40.

Best bowler for MGT was J Carley who took 3-16 MGT then finished on 71-6 with J Carley 25 being top scorer. For Youlgreave R Podmore took 3-14.

At Morton, NFU scored 111-8 in their allotted overs with A Carpenter scoring 46.

For Morton R Hadfield took 3-13. Morton reached their target for the loss of four wickets ending on 115-4 with R Hadfield scoring 30. Pick of the bowlers for NFU were A Carpenter 1-9 and C Shacklock 1-14.

In Division Three at Cutthorpe, visitors Apperknowle scored 152-5 in their allotted overs with best batsmen being M Hibbert 52 and T Moore 33.

Wicket takers for Cutthorpe were S Foster 2-30, J Thompson 1-25 and D Whittle 1-32.

Cutthorpe then reached 114-7 with A Archer 24, J Thompson 18 and D Whittle 17.

Best bowling figures for Youlgreave were A Scott 2-17 J Tilsley 2-23 and T Moore 1-4.

Whittington Wanderers batted first and scored 166-3 with D Vickery and A Brocklehurst both reaching 53 and P Whiteley 43 not out .

Pick of the bowlers for BALGO was L Braddock with figures of 0-12.

In reply BALGO reached 140-7 with L Braddock 38, D Budd 30 and P Beecroft 23 not out.
