The British Paralympic Association has announced Matlock’s Anthony Peddle has been selected for Great Britain powerlifting squad for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Peddle is one of Britain’s most experienced Paralympians, having competed in powerlifting at every Games since Seoul 1988, where he made his debut aged just 17 years old.

London 2012 will be his seventh Paralympic Games.

Fiona Lothian, Performance Director for British Weightlifting, said: “I am convinced we can build on our recent performances to deliver good results in London.”
