Five Derbyshire riders are eyeing silverware this season in the Darley Moor Championship ahead of Round Five this weekend.
Alex Woodhouse (Chesterfield), Anthony Porter (Chesterfield), Gordan Thorpe (Matlock), David Bradley (Matlock) and Adam Hoare (Heanor) are all in the running for medals.
With the warm weather set to continue this weekend things are beginning to hot up on the track as well as off it.
Woodhouse is in the running in two categories - eight points off the pace in the Lightweight group, which also consists of Adam Hoare, but leading the way in the Pre 98’s Up to 500cc by one point.
Porter looks certain to take the honours in the Pre Injection 600 category - 35 points ahead of Richard Shipley.
Matlock’s Thorpe also looks hot favourite to take the Classic 500 title, leaving the field eating his dust with Andrew Lee his nearest competitor some 60 points behind. Bradley (pictured) remains in pole position in the Classic 1000, nine points ahead of Mike Harding.
And Heanor rider Hoare is hot on the heels of Matt Zsciesche in the lightweight section - four points behind the leader and four points ahead of third placed Woodhouse ahead of Round Five.
Darley Moor Motorcycle Road Race Club will hold Round Five on Saturday, July 20, followed by the East Midlands Racing Association holding a round of their own championship on Sunday.
