First dan black belt Mary Langen has been selected to represent England’s U21 karate team.
Mary attended trials in Liverpool under the instruction of chief instructor of the Karate Union of Great Britain Andy Sherry and junior squad coach Frank Brennan.
The trials were three hours of intensive fighting drills.
Mary was one of only 12 females to be selected.
Mary will be representing England Juniors at the forth coming Grandslam event, a competition between England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Eire and Italy to be held at the Queen’s Park Leisure Centre, Chesterfield, on Saturday, February 25.
