MORE than 1,000 competitors took part in the Bolsover 10k organised by the North Derbyshire Running Club.

In one of the closest finishes the race has ever known, last year’s winner Richard Weir beat Meles Okbazghi by four seconds to claim back-to-back titles in a time of 30:59. Nick Baker was the first North Derbyshire runner to finish in 34:32.

Julie Briscoe from Wakefield Harriers was the first woman to cross the line (35:42). First vet: Richard Harris from Rotherham Harriers (33:21).
