Crowder and Davies hit form for Works

In Division One Clay Cross Works batted first and in their allotted overs reached a total of 159-8 with D Crowder scoring 51 and M Davies also scoring 51.

The best bowlers on show for CSC were J Branson 2-7 and Paul Blair 2-19.

In reply CSC then scored 134-4 with Chris Plant reaching 40, Summeringe 43 not out and John Clarke 25.

Best bowlers on show for Clay Cross Works were I Betney 1-16 C Pemberton 1-30 and K Tann 1-40

Coal Aston batted first and scored 113-6 with G Woolley reaching 30 not out.

Pick of the bowlers for Bryan Donkins was C Bullimore who took 3-33.

Bryan Donkins then reached their target for the loss of six wickets ending on 115-6 with C Bullimore scoring 40. Best bowlers for Coal Aston were M Roe 2-9 and C Timms 2-21.

Grassmoor batted first and in their allotted overs reached a total of 111-7.

C Fletcher 32 not out, T Bown 26 and S Richardson 13 were their top scorers.

For Holmesfield wicket takers were D Ward 2-14, A Holmes 2-18, T Brown 1-6 and H Singleton 1-17.

In reply Holmesfield lost early wickets but recovered to win by two wickets finishing on 114-8.

The only two scores of note were D Ward 50 and N Bartholomew 18.

Wicket takers for Grassmoor were Melissa Woolven 2-16, C Dawes 2-19 and S Bown 1-19.

In Division Two Shirebrook reached 83 all out with both Smedley and C Wheatley scoring 19.

For NFU M Hislop took 2-7 and both S Crooks and C Shacklock took 1-12.

NFU then scored 87-3 with A Crooks 40 not out S Coulton 20 and C Shacklock 14 not out. For Shirebrook, Smedley took 1-20.

Dronfield Woodhouse scored 140-8 with M Baggaley 40 and both T Baggaley and M Dawson 24.

For Calow, J Johnson 2-23 and J Horton 3-15 were best bowlers.

Calow fell short of their target finishing on 116-9 with M Griffiths 53. For Dronfield M Gee took 3-14 and G Fisher 4-13.

Chesterfield Barbarians thanks mainly to D Hopkinson and J Fletcher, who both reached 52, scored 146.

Youlgreave then got 104 with W Hianga 28. For Barbarians D Hopkinson took 4-9

In division three Cutthorpe scored 101-6 in their allotted overs with C Taylor 47 not out.

For Whittington Wanderers A Mellors 2-18, P Hooley 1-19 and D Vickery 1-14 were pick of the bowlers. Whittington Wanderers then reached 104-2 with M Pashley 34 and D Whiteley 33 being best batsmen.

For Cutthorpe Thompson took 1-6 and Whittington Wanderers scored the winning runs off the last ball of the match.

Pilsley batted first and reached 141-5 with C Worthy 52 and O Jones 35. Wicket takers for Tupton Rugby Club were M Keshwala 1-7, N Brown 1-12, S Curry 1-33 and R Whitmore 1-34.

In another close match Tupton finished on 143-7 scoring the winning run off the penultimate ball of the match.

Best batsmen were M Keshwala 39, B Curry 27 and John Burton 19. Pick of the bowlers for Pilsley were D Bargh 2-17, C Worthy 2-25 and T Bowers 2-27.
