With the final race in the Derbyshire Athletic Association Mini Cross Country League completed, Buxton and District Athletic Club juniors turned in some fine results.

Will Tighe was crowned champion in the under-11 boys category, while Elliot Meylan finished fifth in the under-13 boys section, followed by Jacob Buckley (7th) and Luke Farrant (12th).

For the girls, Harriet Buckley was seventh in the under-15 girls category, while Amy Quince finished 21st in the under-13 girls.

Several Buxton seniors took part in the popular national Parkrun series at the weekend.

Three members travelled to Congleton to take part in the 5K event at Astbury Mere, with Pete Bailey leading them home in a time of 22 minutes and 26 seconds. He was followed by Sheila Bradley (23.01, fourth lady and first over-55), while Jim Bradley made his debut as an over-70 at the event and finished in 25 minutes and nine seconds.

At the Sheffield Parkrun, Emma Havenhand competed and finished the course in 24 minutes and 22 seconds.

Snowy weather forced the postponement of the club’s ‘Dream-on Mile’ event last week, and this has been re-arranged for 7.15pm on Wednesday February 27, starting on Broad Walk in the Pavilion Gardens. All club members are welcome.
