League and cup double for Town girls

Chesterfield Town U13s girls have been celebrating after competing a league and cup double.

After clinching the league laurels, the girls met Whaley Bridge in the final at Matlock Town’s Causeway Lane Ground.

It was a 2-0 triumph with Abbie Barlow and Ellie Dunn on target.

The player of the match award went to captain Olivia Owen.

A presentation took place on the pitch after the game and Town girls had great delight in lifting the cup.

Meanwhile, Town U10s lost out 4-0 to Bagthorpe Athletic.

Town U10 Whites played Wingerworth twice in a week the first game ending Wingerworh JSA 2-6.

Town marksmen were Joe Kirk, Ethan Vann, Joel Taylor 3 and Max Hartshorn.

Town entertained Wingerworth at home and the clash ended 1-1, the goal coming from Ethan Vann.

Town U9s captured the Mansfield Youth League championship after a 6-0 victory over Welbeck Welfare.

Scorers were Joe Millward 3, Sam Goodban 2 and Elliot Allsop.

Man of the match was to Sam Goodban.

Brimwood United U10s lost 3-2 against Robin Hood Colts.

Scorers were Thomas Wagstaff and Jack Goodhand while the man of the match was Keiron Taylor.

It was a battling performance to come from 3-0 down to almost earn a point.

Brimwood U13s defeated Matlock Phoenix 2-1.

Both goals came from Cory Burton.

Match awards went to Aron Black and Brad Jacques.

Brimwood U15s draw 2-2 with Tansley Juniors.

Scorers were Kyle Perrins and Chris Ward while man of the match was Jamie Ross.

Somersall Rangers U11s finished their first Rowsley Youth League season in triumph when they won the cup.

In the final at Causeway Lane, they defeated ADASC 5-0.

Scores were Matt Birkes, Connah Evans 2, Dan Keighley, James Whibbley.

In addition, they won their last game of the season by beating Buxton 4-0.

Chesterfield Junior Blues U11s defeated Dukeries FC 5-1.

Scorers were Reace Hezzell, Brandon Jones (2), Kieran Gibson and man of the match Sam Doyle.
