Dronfield 1st XV 62, Belper 14

Dronfield completed the double with a comprehensive victory over Belper.

Dronfield started well and five minutes of sustained pressure led to a try at the top corner for winger Nick Hawke. 5-0.

Dronfield remained on top and further tries came from Matt Nesbit, pictured, and Nigel Westerman to make the score 19-0.

Belper pulled one back before Dronfield imposed their authority with a try from Carl Walker to make it 24-7.

Before half-time, a breakaway try from Hawke saw him bag his brace while blindside flanker Robert Atkinson grabbed another to put Dronfield well in command.

Subsequent tries came from Gary Dempsey 2 and Jon Coxin.

East Retford 20, Tupton 14

(Midland Division Midlands Four East North)

Tupton travelled to East Retford in this second and third place clash in the league but the result in the end was very disappointing.

Retford broke the deadlock with a penalty before Michael Patterson gathered a crossfield ball from Brett Marriott before touching down.

Marriott added the conversion to make it 7-3 to Tupton at half time

The hosts slotted a penalty but a Bret Marriott try, which he converted himself, left Tupton 14-7 in the lead.

Retford came back with a try and right at the death sealed the triumph to leave Tupton disappointed.

Man of the match was Sam Parkes for his sterling work all over the park once again.

On Saturday, Tupton entertain East Leake. KO 2.15pm.

Chesterfield Panthers U14s 35, Rotherham Titans U14s 5

Chesterfield hosted Rotherham at Stonegravels and put in a sterling performance.

Matthew White set the Panthers on their way with a pick-up-and-go move from the back of the scrum score the first try of the match.

Josh Wilde then ran in what was to be the first of a hat-trick of tries before prop Billy Goodall scored his first try of the season to give the Chesterfield team a 15-5 lead at half-time.

The second half was all Chesterfield as they upped their work-rate.

Dominic Grainger ran in from the wing and this was quickly followed by a brace of tries from Wilde, the first coming when he collected the ball in his own half and evaded several tackles before touching down under the posts.

Ewan Hawkins completed the scoring with a touch-down in the corner and a creditable victory was secured.

Stourbridge Ladies 5

A comprehensive victory for the Panthers Ladies saw them totally dominate the opposition.

Tries came from Cath Wynn, Jo Batten, Bambi and Sophie Lawes 2 with a conversion from Danii Booth.

Southwell 3rd XV 48,

Ripley Rhinos 1st XV 0

Rhinos 1sts lost out to a quicker, fitter and younger Southwell 3rds in this Pennant encounter.

Rhinos man of the match was Sam Musgrove.
