Hannah Lawrence is stepping up a gear in her bid to qualify for the London Olympics.
Hannah hopes to book her ticket GB fencing team in April and part of her build-up involves the first two grand prix of the season at Doha and Budapest next month.
Ashgate-based Hannah will jet out to Qatar and Hungary for the showdowns and she is determined to do well.
Hannah started her fencing career with Wingerworth Fencing Club, where she retains strong links, and in 2010 she attended the World Championships and the European championships where she reached the quarter finals.
The former Manchester University student trains in Manchester, where she is working as part of the 02 athlete career development scheme, and she trains three days a week with her Wingerworth coach Tony Klenczar.
In addition, Hannah has been given a year’s free membership at Brampton Manor where she uses the gym, swimming pool, studio and squash court.
Hannah said: “I have recently been spending a lot of my time working on the psychological and tactical side of side fencing, and hope to use it well at Doha and Budapest.’’
