Chesterfield Athletics Club’s crack U15 girls squad built on their current supremacy in two leagues by also taking team honours in the Derbyshire County Cross-Country Championships.
This year’s event, held in conjunction with Notts at Wollaton Park, saw Ian Menzies’ squad close in three runners in the first five for a team score of ten just ahead of Derby AC on 14.
The club’s U15 boys also made the podium when they picked up silver medals in the last race of the day.
Individual results: U11G: Katie Lindley 2nd, Isabelle Thompson 3rd, 8 ran.
U11B: Alex Ediker 4th, 10 ran.
U13B: Bailey Jones 7th, Nathan Hamilton 11th, 16 ran.
U15G: Tasmin Boam 2nd, Emily Wass 3rd, Chloe Hall 5th, Rebecca Herring 7th, Lauren Wilson 10th, 10 ran. Team 1st.
U15B: Martin Pendlebury 4th, Campbell Menzies 6th, James Yapp 10th, 13 ran.
Team 2nd. U17M: Ed Bilton 4th, 8 ran. SenM Ian Monaghan 12th, 30 ran.
Club athletes set numerous new personal bests when they competed at indoor meetings in Sheffield and Manchester.
