Sunday League: Hasland FC have one hand firmly on Division One title

A four goal salvo from Ant Lynam almost secured the Division One title for his Hasland side on Sunday who now need just one point from their final three games to claim the trophy.

Three of his goals came from 12 yards as opponents Hollingwood conceded three penalty kicks in the game, finally going down by five goals to three.

Britannia’s hopes of winning the title more or less disappeared at Killamarsh Juniors Athletic for whom Gary Parsons hit a treble, Adie Parsons one in a 4-0 win for the hosts.

Brampton Rovers eased to a 5-0 win over Tibshelf Town, Elliott Crowder’s hat trick helping to condemn Town to a bottom of the table finish.

The wooden spoon in Division Two has ended up in the hands of Grassmoor Sports as a disappointing campaign ended with a 2-1 defeat to Chesterfield Town, Danny Rigby scoring the winning goals.

In Division Four, Woodside’s chances of winning next week’s Chatsworth Cup Final received a huge boost as an Adam Fareham goal proved to be enough to beat New Inn Newton, who will again provide the opposition in the above final.

For a long while Palterton Sporting Club were in grave danger of finishing bottom of Division Five, but a 3-2 victory over Goldminers, who led twice, saw the danger vanish as the win saw them finish third from bottom. Brimington United finished bottom.

AFC Bolsover claimed the Division Six title with a Daley Furness inspired 4-0 win over Langer Lane, the former Bolsover Old Boys man scored twice in his sides 14th league victory of the season.

Woodthorpe Inn’s M Walsh scored four times in his sides 4-3 win over Dronfield Wanderers whilst Rogers and Robson both scored hat tricks in Clowne Wanderers 6-0 mauling of Dunston Rovers.

Birdholme 2nds will have to win their final league game by more than two goals if they are to avoid finishing bottom of Division Seven following their penultimate game which ended in a 4-0 defeat at Duckmanton Community,
