Staveley Miners Welfare are yet to get off the mark this season in the Toolstation North Counties East League Premier Division.
Following defeats at Handsworth Parramore and home to Pickering Town, the Trojans lost 2-1 to Liversedge on Saturday. Vaughan Redford put Liversedge ahead only for Steveley to respond two minutes later through Kieran Watson. But Brandon Kane’s penalty just before the break restored Liversedge’s lead.
And it remained 2-1 to the visitors, while 109 watched on at Inkersall Road.
Elsewhere in the Premier Division, Armthorpe Welfare are yet to get off the mark and have yet to score a goal as they went down 3-0 at home to Maltby Main. Three goals in as many minutes in the middle of the second half finishing them off.
Whilst Retford United are also on zero points from their first two matches after they were beaten 5-0 at Thackley who climb to fourth.
A Kai Hancock hat-trick helped Athersley Recreation to a 4-2 win at Rainworth Miners Welfare, there was a double from Omar Habeeb as Albion Sports were victorious at Barton Town Old Boys, 3-2, and Garforth defeated visitors Clipstone, 2-1.
Staveley travel to Cleethorpes Town on Wednesday night and Harrogate Railway Athletic on Saturday.
