The two day-tourney attracts top age-group teams from across the UK, and after being knocked out on penalties in the semi-finals last year, the Staveley lads were determined to make amends.

They won all five of their group games and then crushed Crosspool 3-0 in the semis to set up a hard-fought final against north-east hotshots Montagu Blues, who boasted a few academy players. Digging deep and backed by a band of 30 supporters, they triumphed 1-0 to round off a competition in which they scored 23 goals and conceded only two.
