Staveley Miners Welfare were unable to make it a hat-trick of wins in the space of a week on Tuesday night in the NCEL Premier.
The Welfare, on the back of a 5-1 hammering of Thackley and 3-1 win over Nostell, went down 4-0 away at Shaw Lane Aquaforce.
Three goals in the space of six first half minutes blew Staveley away at the home of high-flying Shaw Lane, who maintained a 100 per cent record.
Sam Denton, James Eyles and Stefan Holt took the wind out of the Welfare’s sails before Eyles got his second of the game one minute from the 90.
An injury-hit Staveley meant a makeshift eleven, missing seven first team players, including all the back four, made the trip to Barnsley.
The Welfare take a break from league duties for the next couple of weeks, as they look to make good progress in two cup competitions.
They will take on Rainworth Miners Welfare of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier First Division South on Saturday in an FA Cup Preliminary Round.
Staveley then face Athersley Recreation the following Saturday at home in the FA Vase First Round Qualifying.
