SHEFFIELD United are relegated from the Championship after failing to beat Barnsley in the local derby - Doncaster Rovers are safe in the division while promoted League Two leaders Chesterfield now only need a point to be crowned champions, writes Graham Walker.
Sheffield Wednesday, Doncaster and Rotherham all drew their games today.
Elsewhere, Wycombe beat Bury 3-1 and in so doing gave Chesterfield a huge boost in their bid to be crowned League Two champions.
The Spireites could only manage a goalless draw against Torquay last night, giving second place rivals Bury a chance to move ahead of them on goal difference today - they had to beat promotion chasing Wycombe at home.
But Bury’s defeat means Chesterfield now only need a point from their last game to guarantee the League Two title.
Wycombe need to match Shrewsbury’s result to confirm their own promotion to League One.
