Bristol City boss Steve Cotterill says his side must stay alert if they are to stop hot-shot Eoin Doyle adding to his impressive goal tally.
Doyle leads the League One goalscoring charts with 12 goals in 11 games and has been nominated for the division’s player of the month award.
And Cotterill is all too aware that keeping the former Hibs man silent is a key part of the League leaders plans to extend their unbeaten start.
“We need to be alert to Eoin Doyle, especially inside the penalty area,” said Cotterill.
“We cannot give him too many sniffs at goal. Chesterfield have done well, just like Fleetwood, and have kept their momentum going from last season.
“It’s been a busy week and a little tiring, but we’ll be ready to go again on Saturday.
“The fans have been terrific. If they can get the place jumping again, it means so much to the players.”
Former Alfreton Town defender Aden Flint has also signalled out the Spireites goal-getter as the man to watch.
Said Flint: “Chesterfield are going strong at the moment and it is going to be a tough game.
“They have got the top scorer in the division so it is going to be a hard.
“The boys are looking forward to it. If we can win then we have the chance to extend the gap on second place.
“We cannot underestimate Chesterfield, but if we play as we can play then I think we will be allright.”
Bristol City have started superbly following their relegation from the Championship and are currently top the table with 25 points from their opening 11 matches.
Spireites head into the game inside the play-off places and have Tommy Lee available for selection after his red card against Sheffield United was overturned.
