Reds manager Nicky Law has the luxury of having a full strength squad available for the first time this season as two impending suspensions don’t come into effect until the following weekend and there are no injuries.

That means Law will have plenty of options and lots of competition for places, particularly with club captain Dan Bradley available again after a seven-game absence due to serving back-to-back suspensions.

The Reds go into the game in good form having suffered just one defeat in their last six games in all competitions and on the back of securing a place in the Emirates FA Cup third qualifying round with a stunning 3-2 win at league rivals Tamworth who were previously unbeaten this season.

Stalybridge arrive for the game in good form also having only lost once in their last seven outings in all competitions. They are unbeaten in their last five and have won their last two fixtures, the latest being a 3-2 success at Kendal Town in the Emirates FA Cup last weekend.

Just one point and two places separate the sides in the table with Alfreton lying eighth on 16 points and Stalybridge in tenth on 15.

On the road, Liam Watson’s side have only won once in five outings but they have gained very creditable draws at high-flying Tamworth and Nuneaton Town.

The two defeats came very early in the season at Hednesford Town (1-2) on the opening day of the campaign and Gainsborough Trinity (1-3).

It is a first league game between the sides since 2011 when Alfreton triumphed 5-3 at the Impact Arena on January 8th on the way to winning the Conference North title. Indeed, the Reds recorded a league ‘double’ over the Celts, winning 2-1 at Bower Fold in October 2010.

Previous games between the sides have yielded plenty of goals and a cracking game is in prospect.
