Shirebrook’s struggles continued after they were beaten 2-1 by Westella VIP following a poor performance.

The first half didn’t see much action with only a hand full of chances for both teams and neither keeper having to make a save.

The closesg any side got to breaking the deadlock was when Whittington put his header over the bar.

The second half started off the same way, but it was the visitors who got on the front foot hitting the post mid way through the second half.

Shirebrook looked much better in a 15 minute spell and they got their reward in the 79th minute when Matty Ord burst down the right wing only to be taken down by the Westella defender in the penalty area.

Whittington stepped up to take the spot kick, but his shot was saved only for the rebound to fall to him and he made no mistake second time around to give the hosts the lead.

But Westella then went all out and got back into the game in the 84th minute through Callum Harrison when poor defending from the Shirebrook back line left him unmarked to level.

And it was Harrison who got the winner in the 89th minute when he burst into the box and smashed his shot into the top corner to give the visitors all three points.
