On a disappointing night for local Evo-Stik League One South sides, Sheffield FC went down 3-2 at home against Lincoln United despite a second half fight back, while Stocksbridge Park Steels failed to score for the fourth game in a row after a 2-0 home reversal at Rainworth MW.
Joe Green in the Sheffield goal had already been forced into a couple of saves before Lincoln took the lead through former Sheffield player Scott Ruthven.
It got worse when Kallum Smith doubled the visitors’ advantage. But Ashley Longstaff turned the ball in from close range. It was all square on 68 minutes as Longstaff grabbed his second of the night. But Lincoln broke away to go 3-2 up through ex-Worksop Town player Sam Duncum.
As Sheffield pushed for an equaliser there were claims for a penalty only for James Gregory to be booked for diving.
Alexander Ford converted a cross to give Rainworth a lead at Bracken Moor. Steels had the better of the second half with Cecil Nyoni firing just wide. Harrison Biggins hit the post too. However, Rainworth wrapped up the points when Tristram Whitman headed home.
The Barnsley derby saw the spoils shared as Shaw Lane Aquaforce and Athersley Recreation battled out a 1-1 draw in front of a crowd of around 600.
