New Mills Reserves stretched their run of consecutive victories to 15 on Saturday when they came from behind to defeat Silsden 2-1 in the North West Counties League Reserve Division.

Silsden took an early lead, but Ross Needham struck to gain parity for Rick Adrio’s side. The Millers took an advantage into the dressing room at half-time through Dan Jones.

New Mills missed several chances in the second half and were very nearly made to pay the price as Silsden rallied late on.

The result leaves New Mills sitting pretty at the top of the division.

This coming week, the Reserves face arguably their trickiest pair of fixtures of the season as they travel to the two sides immediately below them in the league table.

On Saturday, they travel to Padiham (kick-off 3pm) before heading to Irlam on Tuesday evening (kick-off 7.45pm).
