After an early chance for Knaresborough, which forced an excellent double save from Town keeper Joe Taylor, Dronfield grew into the game and looked the better side until Knaresborough took the lead against the run of play in the 35th minute following a free kick, Jonathan Maullin on target.

Dronfield hung on in there and equalised following the award of a penalty on 40 minutes scored by Owen.

Two minutes later they were in front after a superb break and excellent finish again by again by Owen.

After half-time, Knaresborough tried to get back on terms but in the 58th minute the pace of Dronfield upfront led to another goal for Owen.

Dronfield weren’t as fluid after an injury to forward Dan Wood, but they thoroughly deserved the win with Declan Childes superb on his Dronfield debut.
