Chesterfield FC have lost their battle to keep hold of Sam Morsy.

The Spireties captain has finally completed his deal to join Wigan Athletic.

Morsy, who scored in the 2-1 defeat to Millwall at the weekend, announced he was to leave the club post game.

Morsy, 24, scored eight goals in 117 appearances for the Spireites.
