Brampton FC 1 - 1 Hathersage
Brampton Fc were held to a draw at Brookfield on Saturday by the newly promoted Hathersage.
The early exchanges were quite even with both teams going close twice. It was the visitors who took the lead just before the 20-minute mark.
The Brampton defence were caught napping in possession and the Hathersage attacker broke clear and looped Steve Shippam.
After this goal, Brampton got a proper foothold on the game and it’s fair to say, domintated the game.
The equaliser came on the 55-minute mark. A cross from the left was flicked on twice before Iain Branson finished well from close range.
Brampton were now controlling the game as they created chance after chance but were denied time after team by a superb Hathersage keeper who pulled off a string of stunning saves.
All in all, it was a good point for Brampton as Hathersage have been flying high since their promotion. However, Brampton felt they had done enough to earn all three points.
Next up for Brampton is Blazing Rag in the Derbyshire Cup at Buxton. 1.30pm kick off.
