Derbyshire groundsmen are being urged to take part in a winter workshop put on by the county’s Football Association.
The workshop, a first of its kind, is put on in partnership with the regional pitch advisor Tom Rowley of the Institute of Groundsmanship.
It is designed to assist groundsmen, often dedicated volunteers, on how best to look after pitches during the playing season.
There will also be the opportunity to share tips, advice and contacts in which to support the ongoing efforts of the groundsmen.
A Derbyshire FA spokesman said: “This is the first of its kind in Derbyshire and we plan to deliver a second workshop in March or April 2015 that will focus on end of season work and close season preparation.”
The workshop will take place on Monday, November 10 from 6.30-9pm at Long Eaton United Football Club, Grange Park, Station Road, Long Eaton, NG10 2EF.
There will be an interactive presentation and also an outdoor session on the main pitch.
