Derby County have been awarded an FA license to develop their Girls Centre of Excellence.
The tier 2 Regional Talent Club licence, funded nationally by the FA, will see the Derby County Community Trust deliver an elite football programme for girls aged U10, U12, U14 and U16.
The Girls Centre of Excellence, which has been running for seven years, will convert into a Regional Talent Club.
Footballers have already gone from the centre into England talent camps, England squads, Derby County Ladies and Womens Super League Clubs.
Head of Community Simon Carnall said: “We are proud and delighted to have been allocated tier 2 Regional Talent Club Licence and look forward to developing our relationship with Derby County Ladies to offer outstanding opportunities to female players.
“We are hugely passionate and committed to developing the female side of the game, our commitment over the past seven years through the Centre of Excellence and grass roots provision demonstrates that.”
