Doe Lea Villa stayed on course to complete a cup double, as they beat Clowne Wanderers in a re-run of the Derbyshire Sunday Senior Cup Final in the semi-final of the Dey and Co Alma Cup to book a place at the B2net stadium

Villa were the stronger side throughout and deservedly beat Wanderers as goals from Keiran Loftus, Pete Stubley and Nico DeGiralamo settled the tie.

Moonrakers also have a final to look forward to, as they beat AFC Bolsover in the semi-final of the Mill Hutson Cup by two goals to one. G Meads and J Batterson with the winning goals, giving them the chance to complete a league and cup double having already won NAPIT division eight.

In the league, the NAPIT Division Seven title is the latest to be decided as a 6-4 victory over Newbold Wheatsheaf saw Butchers Arms Spartans crowned champions in what has been a fantastic season for the club. C Tromans hit a super hat trick in what was Spartans’ seventeenth league win in twenty-two starts.

AFC Angel claimed third spot with a 1-0 victory over Corner House, A Sharpe with the goal. Boythorpe put five past Brampton Rovers Reserves, P Grant scoring two of them.

The second division title chase was blown wide open as second-placed Highfield crushed leaders Hollingwood 6-0 to go above them on goal difference.

Nathan Whitehead and Daniel Keenan and James Hill each scored two goals in the win. However the form team in this division are AFC Brampton who recorded a sixth straight league win, keeping four clean sheets in the process to move to within a point of the top two with games in hand.

Josh Goodwin pulverised the Oxcroft MW defence in the first forty-five minutes hitting four goals. Add goals from Marco Marchetta, Wayne Bexton and Andy Scragg and Brampton were sitting pretty by half time. Oxcroft regrouped however and conceded just once more in the second period, Richard Milner hitting the winner’s eighth.

At the other end of the table second from bottom Rowthorne Lane SC thrashed bottom club Hady Bridge 7-1, Johnson and Parfitt both hitting trebles.
