LUIS Boa Morte has left Chesterfield following the end of his short-term contract.
The former Arsenal, Fulham and West Ham winger made 13 appearances for the Spireites since joining the club in October.
The 35-year-old showed glimpses of his undoubted ability during his time at the Proact Stadium, despite not scoring.
Chesterfield manager Paul Cook praised his contribution.
He said: “Luis has been a model professional during his time with us.
“We thank him for his efforts but we have decided against extending his stay.”
The Portuguese midfielder leaves the club four points outside the play-offs in League Two ahead of this weekend’s visit of Northampton Town.
