Danny Wilson wants Chesterfield trialist Diego De Girolamo to realise his ‘great potential.’
The Spireites boss, who handed De Girolamo his Football League debut as a Sheffield United substitute, will cast his eye over the 20-year-old next week.
Wilson said: “We want to see if he’s somebody we could maybe utilise this season. Diego has great potential and it’s time for him to start realising his potential now.
“He’s maybe lost his way a bit and it’s up to him to grasp this opportunity. Hopefully we can get the best out of him.”
De Girolamo failed to convince a succession of Sheffield United managers that they should utilise him in the first team.
He’s spent time on loan with York City and Northampton Town.
