Saturday will be the fourth encounter between Chesterfield and Walsall this season.

In League One action, Spireites were 2-1 victors at the Bescot Stadium.

Goals from Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Ian Evatt brought victory for Dean Saunders’ side, and knocked the Saddlers off the top of the table.

The two clubs then met in the FA Cup second round.

In the first leg, Spireites held Walsall to a 1-1 draw, with both sides under the careful watch of caretaker managers.

After falling behind, Chesterfield hit back through a late goal, bundled over the line.

And neither side found the net in the replay, so after a goalless 120 minutes the Saddlers progressed on penalties.

Looking ahead to Saturday’s game at the Proact, Spireites writer Graham Smyth says the pressure will be on the visitors, not the hosts.
