New Chesterfield FC recruit Chris Turner believes the Spireites can win their battle against relegation.
The former Sheffield Wednesday manager - pictured - who became the Blues chief executive on Wednesday, said: “I know League One very well and having seen Chesterfield play a couple of times this season, I know they are well capable of staying in this division.’’
However, Turner, 53 – who has also managed at Leyton Orient, Hartlepool United, where he was director of football, and Stockport County – insists he will not interfere with plan of manager John Sheridan.
Turner has taken over the role from Carol Wilby.
