Gary Roberts is unlikely to make the trip to Walsall with the rest of the Chesterfield squad due to injury.

The 30-year-old winger has suffered a small hamstring tear and missed the game at Colchester United on Tuesday.

Dan Johnson dropped to the bench as Jay O’Shea and Ollie Banks were given a chance from the kick-off in Essex.

Injured trio Aaron Chapman, Sam Hird and Drew Talbot remain longer-term absentees for the Spireites, who have added to their ranks this week.

Huddersfield Town midfielder Oscar Gobern joined on an emergency loan on Thursday and will be available for selection for Saturday.

But whether he goes straight in to the starting line-up remains to be seen as he has been starved of first team football this season.

Walsall are boosted by the return of striker, and top goalscorer, Tom Bradshaw who has been missing for three weeks with a hamstring injury.

Likely line-ups

Walsall (4-2-3-1): O’Donnell; Purkiss, Chambers, Downing, Taylor; Cain, Chambers, Baxendale, Sawyers, Forde; Bradshaw

Chesterfield (4-2-3-1): Lee; Darikwa, Evatt, Margreitter, Jones; Morsy, Ryan; O’Shea, Banks, Clucas; Doyle
