Spireites sudder shock defeat

Chesterfield 0, Morecambe 2

Lowly Morecambe pulled off the shock League Two result of the weekend by defeating table toppers Chesterfield at the B2net.

The visitors took the lead in the 22nd minute through Kevan Hurst who had three loan spells with the Spireites when he was a Sheffield United player.

The Chesterfield-born midfielder netted with a low shot from 25 yards which beat keeper Tommy Lee at his right-hand post.

Morecambe doubled their lead in the 57th minute when Jimmy Spencer touched in from close range.

Five minutes later, it looked like Craig Davies had pulled one back for the hosts but he was penalised and booked for tangling with Morecambe keeper Barry Roche.
