Goals from Armand Gnanduillet and Ollie Banks gave Spireites a 2-0 victory in their private practice match in Portugal.

Dean Saunders’ men beat second division SC Olhanense to end a successful week on the Algarve.

The team return to England today to prepare for a home game against Hull City on Tuesday evening.

One man who could feature in that game is 21-year-old Dion Donahue, a left-footed midfielder.

He played in the games at Matlock Town and Buxton and appeared as an over aged player in the youth team’s 2-2 draw at Clipstone on Thursday, scoring directly from a 25 yard free-kick.

He spent last season with Sutton Coldfield, helping them win promotion to the Evo-Stik Premier League having been with Caernarfon Town the season before.

He had a spell as a youngster with Everton.

Spireites’ youth team play at Hallam on Monday evening at 7.30pm.
