Chesterfield FC Community Trust is wanting to say ‘you’re hired’ to eight new teenage apprentices.
The trust, in conjunction with the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) and LifeSkills, is now taking applications for a new programme for teenagers aged 16 to 18.
The Trust is looking for eight apprentices, who are passionate about sport and developing a career in the sports industry.
The apprenticeship programme will last over a period of 24 weeks and is designed to give youngsters an insight into the sports industry, and equip them with the necessary tools and knowledge to succeed.
The programme comes with an £83 per week salary and delivers the following industry qualifications: Apprenticeship Level 2 in Activity Leadership; two Technical Certificates: Apprenticeship framework technical certificate; key Skills in maths and English. These will be delivered should candidates not already hold A-C grades at GCSE.
This programme allows candidates to learn in an inspirational environment.
They will gain invaluable experience as an ambassador of the Chesterfield FC Community Trust programme in an area of coaching and tutoring within health, sports participation, social inclusion, disability and education.
An apprenticeship is a good career route to choose as it gives a chance to learn and gain a recognised qualification, while getting paid, although there is no guarantee of employment at the end of the programme
Anybody interested in applying should contact the Chesterfield FC Community Trust on (01246) 209765 option 1 or email firstname.lastname@example.org for an application pack.
Twelve shortlisted candidates will be invited to a two-day ‘Introduction to NVQ Level 2 in Sport Activity Leadership’ course from which eight successful candidates will be selected to start the apprenticeship from, January 16.
Closing date for applications next Tuesday.
