The incident happened early on in Sunday’s Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final and he was quickly substituted by Sam Hird.

Chesterfield feared the worst after the final whistle and scans have revealed he will be sidelined for two months.

Dan Gardner, who has recently returned from injury, is in contention along with Hird and loanees Mason Bennett and Dan Kearns.
