Chesterfield will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing midweek JPT loss at Rochdale when they host Gillingham on Saturday.
Dean Saunders rang the changes at Spotland but it failed to work as his side exited the competition after a 2-1 loss.
Afterwards, Saunders described the first half at Rochdale as “the worst 45 minutes of football I’ve ever been involved in”.
They head into the visit of Justin Edinburgh’s side in poor form - with just one win in their last seven outings.
To compound their poor form, Saunders’ men have not won at the Proact since their opening day success over Barnsley.
Gillingham in contrast, are fourth in League One and have been in great form this term.
Edinburgh’s troops are the division’s top scorers averaging exactly two goals a game thanks to 22 goals in 11 games.
Saunders is expected to make changes to the side that started Tuesday’s game, with Chris Herd, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Ian Evatt among those expected to earn recalls.
Gillingham also put in a sloppy performance during their JPT tie but managed to overcome Luton 2-1.
Edinburgh may decide to make alterations after five changes against the Hatters.
The Spireites’ are priced at 8/5 with 888sport and Marathon Bet.
The best price for the Gills to escape Derbyshire with three points is 15/8 with BetFred.
Alternatively, if you feel the spoils will be shared then a draw is chalked up at 27/10 with BetVictor.
